Joe Klump, who wrote the worst book ever (Zero Gee Football, It's a Funny Old World)

Surely it was Kevin Keegan? Timrollpickering 08:49, 25 Sep 2004 (UTC)

It was Kevin Keegan in the tv series and Joe Klump in the novel (or possibly the other way round), and I think it was called just called Football. (rather than Zero Gee Football) It's a Funny Old Game. Saul Taylor 08:47, 6 Oct 2004 (UTC)
Actually in the original version of the novel it's still Kevin Keegan, thougbh this may have been changed for the omnibus. I'm going to change it back to Keegan since that's the original in both formats. Timrollpickering 23:36, 16 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Female Holly's hair length

[edit]

As a female, Holly appears to be approximately 30 years old and has long blonde hair.

It may be a "long" style, but it isn't actually long. It's only shoulder-length (or probably shorter - we can't see her shoulders!). —Preceding unsigned comment added by 138.243.195.136 (talk) 09:12, 5 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I've changed it to say shoulder-length. --Mrwojo (talk) 02:49, 9 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Extension of Character Description

[edit]

The section on character appears biased towards describing only the character of male-presenting Holly, describing the male-face's exploits in a fair amount of detail, then entirely skipping over female-face's time on the show to the next appearance of the male face. This should be rectified by filling in with more detail of female Holly's time on the ship. 194.126.66.183 (talk) 01:41, 28 July 2015 (UTC)Fen[reply]

reason for sex change

[edit]

After meeting his female counterpart, Hilly, he fell so madly in love with her that he had a "computer sex change" and based his new face on hers.

After watching Red dwarf, S2, episode 6 (where Holly meets Hilly) it ends as Holly as being male. In S3, episode 01, is the next episode and when Holly appears he is a she and nothing is said about it.

So far I could notice Holly becomes female from season 2 to 3 without any notice. --Walter (talk) 15:04, 24 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Actually the opening scrawl explains the whole sex change, and the reason for Kryten's return. It runs fairly quickly, so you may have to slow it down. I'll can grab the whole thing if you like, I've got it written down somewhere... such a geek...--WORM | MЯOW 21:04, 25 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Last couple of sentences of the crawl.

Meanwhile, Holly, the increasingly erratic computer, performs a head sex change operation on himself. He bases his new face on Hilly, a female computer with whom he'd once fallen madly in love. --WORM | MЯOW 10:21, 26 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Maybe is that not included in all versions. The version I have does not includes that statement. First you have the normal Red Dwarf intro. It ends with the Red Dwarf logo. After that you get a shot of Lister and Cat in there bunk where the are discussing the question of Wilma Flinstone is sexy. No text message. --Walter (talk) 22:07, 29 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Based on Hal?

[edit]

Hal in 2001 has a similar name, and if one remembers also had a slight mental problem. Computer schizophrenia. Is this worth mentioning? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 193.130.15.240 (talk) 17:03, 4 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

well, I wouldn't say so. Hal is quite malevolent with his "illness" and it's not due to old age, like Holly's senility. Either way, it's a bit to close to original research, which isn't permitted on wikipedia. If there's external coverage in reliable sources it might be worth putting in, otherwise not. -- WORMMЯOW  07:46, 5 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]
