A couple questions I'd like second opinions on:

1) What we do with "Notable works" lists like at the end of this article? Is it redundant to list stuff already discussed in the body of the article? Should it be changed to "Other notable works"?

2) Did "Butterfly Murders" really jump start a murder mystery trend or "The Lovers" a period romance trend? (No argument in the cases of the gangster, wuxia or Wong Fei Hung genres.)

I hope somebody's reading. : )

2) It's arguable whether either really did start a trend in murder mystery or period romance, but Tsui certainly "resurrected" those genres by giving them a new twist which otherwise seems to lie dead for many a year. Also, A Chinese Ghost Story certainly did start the period ghost-story-cum-supernatural romance. Mandel 15:37, Mar 18, 2005 (UTC)

True, true, Mandel. Still, the way the sentence is written potentially confuses that point. So I took the liberty of moving around parts of it and adding extensively. As I did to the entire article, actually. Now I feel it's of a size and detail worthy of Tsui Hark, although there's always room for improvements, mine or others'.

Notable works/Filmography

[edit]

Yet another point: Is the Notable Works section now redundant? All of those films are now mentioned in the body of the article. Is it time to turn it into a complete Filmography? The very thought makes me tired at the moment. Michael Wells 05:58, 26 Mar 2005 (UTC)

yes just replace it with filmography (one for director, one for producer), with all films wikilinked. Zzzzz 11:38, 29 March 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Swordsman II

[edit]

Swordsman II is missing in the filmography, as producer. There are several releases in '92, and I'm unsure where to put it. The other two movies in the trilogy are present, Swordman I and The East is Red.96.245.254.46 (talk) 19:52, 28 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
