Mentioning Mayes, book, and real location

[edit]

This seems really strange: Frances Mayes is a real person, the author of Under the Tuscan Sun, the book of her own experiences (of rehabbing a house in Cortona), on which the movie is based. Is there some reason, some agenda, why neither the book, nor the author, nor the place is mentioned in this article???? — Bill15:31, 20 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Movie's influence on Tuscany

[edit]

I was in Florence earlier this year. Apparently many tuscans are very upset with this movie, as it caused a boom in foreigners buying houses in Tuscany and only visiting very rarely, rising housing prices but not really contributing to the community. Is this effect worth mentioning in the article. --- Spacedragonblue15:56, 7 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Absolutely.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.5.128.188 (talk) 18:43, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Trivia section

[edit]

The Trivia section is quite pointless: One entry of no real value. Perfect example of why trivia sections are frowned upon. It's hardly trivial that those two worked on the same show together, actors and actresses often cross paths more than once. - GTD 146.63.187.82 (talk · contribs) - 19:31, 26 June 2008

Mentions in other media?

[edit]

Is it notable that this movie was mentioned in Kath and Kim? Its a very well known show so i think it might be significant, im not sure though. MindWraith (talk) 10:14, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You mean you think it's notable a movie is mentioned in a SITCOM? Yeah that's notable alright.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.5.128.188 (talk) 18:40, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Reception Weak

[edit]

Citing box office is not enough. The critics were not kind to this movie and with reason. Cites from Rotten Tomatoes et al would be appropriate.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.5.128.188 (talk) 18:27, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Rolling Stones Irrelevant

[edit]

Midnight Rambler is but three chords. The actual recording might sound more complex but that's only studio embellishment. Three chords and a few lines of lyrics. That's hardly notable.— Preceding unsigned comment added by 90.5.128.188 (talk) 18:30, 11 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Incorrect IMDB ID in two places

[edit]

Some of the IMDB links are pointing to the wrong movie. Full cast and crew is pointing to tt0119994 which is wrong. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arunachalesha (talkcontribs) 04:10, 4 January 2018 (UTC)[reply]
