Mergers

[edit]

I merged the two, but there wasn't a whole lot in Tammany Society to merge anyway. --TheGrza 20:30, Nov 4, 2004 (UTC)

There isn't enough here

[edit]

What happened after 1950? I know that it still exists in one form or another.

There is a Tammany Hall in Las Vegas, NV

[edit]

Yes... I live in an apartment complex named Tammany Hall. It is located at 4386 Escondido Street, Las Vegas, NV 89119. It was interesting to me to see the history of the name.[1] (Aside: I do not understand anything about this "Cite" and ref tags. Would appreciate help.)

I fixed your cite.--Auric talk 17:31, 17 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Temporal inconsistency in the lead

[edit]

The lead says, "...founded in 1786 and incorporated on May 12, 1789, as the Tammany Society. It was the main local political machine of the Democratic Party..." (https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=Tammany_Hall&oldid=1004798182) However, the Democratic Party was not founded until much later than the 18th century. There are other related temporal inconsistencies in those sentences. Those sentence need to be rewritten to fix that. Sparkie82 (tc) 21:16, 4 February 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Calvin and Hobbes Reference

[edit]

The comic strip Calvin and Hobbes referenced Tammany Hall as in here: https://www.reddit.com/r/calvinandhobbes/comments/79kx3o/tammany_hall_strip/

Can we put this in the popular culture section? Governmentofjoeland (talk) 00:29, 11 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
