Ambiguity

Crown Princess Mary met Crown Prince Frederik in the Slip Inn, in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia during the 2000 Summer Olympics. There were several other European royal princes and princesses there also.

Does the second sentence mean there were several other royals in the Slip Inn, or just in Sydney?--202.154.105.254 22:44, 16 Feb 2005 (UTC)
I don't know what the original author meant, but there were other royals in the Slip Inn. [1] indicates that Mary and two friends met Frederik in the Slip Inn. Frederik was with Nikolaos, Prince of Greece, Prince Joaquim of Denmark and Princess Martha of Norway. Thayvian 06:01, 12 Apr 2005 (UTC)

That pouch

User:Mowens35 has explained to me offline the change he put in place about the Prince's remarks about the "kangaroo in the pouch", and I appreciate his scholarship. However, I am not sure that all readers of Wikipedia would know the reproductive cycle of the Kangaroo, hence I have re-introduced the explanation about how the female kangaroo carries a juvenile (called a joey) in a pouch for up to a year." The use of unencyclopedic/unnecessary information

I viewed this page toady and was shocked to see someone had added biased and rude comments about Mary as well as changing names for example Frederik to Freddo and Donaldson to Boganson. I found this to be rude as well as very unencyclopedic, so I deleted this information immediately as well as added a section on marriage. If anyone else notices these types of additions please delete them as it not only is unencyclopedic but unnecessary. Thanks

First Australian-born Queen Consort

She may be the first reigning Australian-born Queen Consort, but the honour of the first Australian-born Queen Consort goes to Susan wife of King Lekka of Albania 58.110.229.109 (talk) 05:11, 14 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Her husband, known as King Leka, had been proclaimed King of the Albanians by the anti-communist Albanian government-in-exile in 1961, upon the death of his father King Zog. Meanwhile, Albania itself was a communist republic.

How interesting! I have a feeling this will be debated for decades!

Agreed. Susan Cullen-Ward's husband was the heir to a deposed king, but he was never a king himself, so she was no more a actual queen than people like Princess Marie Isabelle of Orléans, Princess Antonia of Luxembourg, Katherine Karađorđević, and Marie-Chantal, Crown Princess of Greece weren't. 2601:249:9301:D570:6570:4E95:2143:38F4 (talk) 00:52, 15 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You are factually wrong. There are 2 types of Queens. 1 is Consort, which applies to Mary, and the other is Regnant, which applied to Margrethe. Consort is the significant other of the monarch, while Regnant IS the monarch. A Queen Consort can be referred to by that title as well as simply "Queen". While Queen Regnant is the technical term for a female monarch, it's just never really used outside of knowledge of terminology, so no one thinks about it. -- Tytrox (talk) 10:58, 17 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
