Kibbutz Geshur

[edit]

Just happened to notice that the entry for Kibbutz Geshur doesn't point to an article on that kibbutz, but to an apparent "disambiguation page" (which looks more like an article to me) that does not mention the kibbutz. Songflower 06:30, 22 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Infobox

[edit]

Please note that I have created a very simple infobox for articles on kibbutzim - examples can be found on the articles for Degania and Palmachim. --Leifern 19:32, May 25, 2005 (UTC)

Many thanks, Leifern: The info box is a great start. I have two suggestions regarding the info box 1. Can we add the pushpin map of Israel as a standard line in the Info Box, as is done with cities - so we can get a visual idea of where the kibbutz is situated. This is done, using a variation, on the Hebrew WP site, for all kibbutzim. We might also think of adding a line for a Google Maps picture of the kibbutz, to show physical layout and relative location, vis-a-vis, major routes, and nearby towns. Is there any reason why we could not show a Google Map? Take a look at how they include a Google Map as an External Link to most kibbutzim on the Hebrew WP. 2. Can we make use of the same info box for moshavim, as they are very similar in terms of organization and descriptive data, without the reference to the Kibbutz affiliation. In addition, many kibbutzim have begun the transition from kibbutz to moshav, and standardizing the infobox would make it easier to maintain description, minimizing data changes, while updating status from kibbutz to moshav. Layout

[edit]

I'd like to propose that we arrange this list in a matrix, with region along one axis and either affiliation, era founded, or something else along the other. The kibbutzim would be listed in the cells. --Leifern 19:41, May 25, 2005 (UTC)

Maabarot

[edit]

Someone added an article about Maabarot today. Should it go on this list? -- Finlay McWalter | Talk 14:50, August 29, 2005 (UTC)

'major' kibbutzim and religious kibbutzim

[edit]

The previous categorization of 'major kibbutzim' and 'Kibbutzim belonging to the 'Religious Kibbutz Movement' was a bit misleading. I also moved some religous kibbutzim from the 'major' list or removed duplications. --Shuki 18:56, 28 January 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Since kibbutzim over the past decades have privatized, I suggest we add a category 'Privatized Kibbutzim", in order to mainain the page, have an encyclopedic history of the present as well as past kibbutzim, so readers can understand the scope of the kibbutz movement, and how these communal organizations have morphed over time.StevenBirnami 15:54, 10 January 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.52.108.194 (talk) [reply]

Yad Hannah

[edit]

I added Yad Hanna to not affiliated AND left in in the main list. When I was last in Israel (long time ago) Yad Hanna was unaffiliated -- it had been expelled from the movement because of Stalinist tendencies. Could someone check the present status and if it is now a member of the movement add something like "since 1999". —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.123.77.134 (talkcontribs) .

Googled Yad Hannah. Interesting story. 87.123.77.134, since you have first hand knowledge, could you put together a stub? --Shuki 20:36, 21 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Yakum

[edit]

Kibbutz Yakum is an important page in the history of Israel and the story of kibbutzim.

Kibbutz Yakum was the fourth kibbutz established in the country - therefore one of the original templates for future kibbutzim.

Yakum voted for privatization in 1992 - an important page in the change in the socialist society in Israel, and in communal living

Information such as this is vital in weaving a complete story of the history of the State of Israel, as well as the story of the socialist movement and communal society in the country.StevenBirnam 15:48, 10 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Masada

[edit]

I cannot figure out the logic in categorizing every piece of land or settlement in Israel as "depopulated during the 1948 Arab-Israeli war". In the case of this, and many settlements, settlers founded a kibbutz wel or town well before the 1948 conflict, i.e., there was no population to depopulate during the 1948 conflict. It is logical where a population has been shown to have fled or evacuated a location, but totally illogical and unacceptable to use this categorization where there was no depopulation. Therefore, I have removed this label from the page for Masada (Kibbutz), where the tower and Stockade settlement had been established more than a decade prior to the cited conflict. - this cannot apply as kibbutz Masada was established years prior to the conflict. Year next to name should reflect topic from heading

[edit]

It's confusing to place a kibb. under the heading "Privatized" and then set next to it in brackets not the year/period of privat., but the date of est. I fixed the problem where I could, but pls answer the following:

Netzarim: what happened in 1984, est. or priv.?Arminden (talk) 16:29, 29 November 2015 (UTC)ArmindenArminden (talk) 16:29, 29 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
