Earnings in board

[edit]

I assume the amounts in the board are expressed in US dollars, right? This needs to be made clearer (it doesn't suffice to mark "$" in there, since in many countries there's no automatic association with US currency). Furthermore, I wonder about the accuracy of those numbers. As the very article states, Els plays all over the world, which means that he gets paid in several different currencies. Converting all those into one single total, expressed in one single currency is not that simple (in fact, top players regularly complain about it). Is there a trustworthy source behind those numbers (the PGA? Els's official website?). In order to avoid this type of doubt, it would be better to quote the origin of the figures. I've added a wikilink to the US dollar article, but I think the number of people who would be in doubt about which type of dollar is meant when winning figures are quoted for a US based tour would be rather small. All PGA tour events except the British Open have prizes in US dollars (including the 2 in Canada) Oliver Chettle 05:20, 2 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Wine

[edit]

Little mention is made of his winery. As this is a very succesful venture and now includes a restaurant, should this not be mentioned more prominently (i.e. in the section on "Other ventures")? --83.160.198.125 (talk) 17:01, 1 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ernie Els 'self-proclaimed avid cocaine user'  ???

[edit]

I haven't attempted to edit a wiki before and am not doing so now, but reading the Wikipedia article on Ernie Els yielded an isolated statement in the Background section that Ernie was a 'self-proclaimed avid cocaine user'. This potentially libelous statement was unsubstantiated in the rest of the article and a google search came up empty. I find it hard to believe that Ernie is big into coke. In any case, it needs to be substantiated beyond what the article offers. 216.152.186.182 (talk) 05:26, 24 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
