Operational History

[edit]

""Some Chinese Tu-2s were shot down by United Nations airmen during the Korean War."", is this correct "United Nations"?

The article is correct. You can refer to the Wikipedia article United Nations for more information. RightQuark (talk)

A couple of issues

[edit]

The article seems pretty good, but a couple of things jumped out at me. The first is the year of production and entry into service, mentioned as 1941 and 1942, respectively. I've always been under the impression that, regardless of when they started building the things, the Tu-2 only entered service in 1944. On a related, more nitpicky, note, the line in the introduction about it being one of the outstanding aircraft of the war seems a bit overblown, if only because of its relatively limited time in service. I didn't edit anything in or out of the article, just thought I'd raise a point or two.--172.162.94.88 (talk) 01:44, 22 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Well, after consulting my own very limited sources on the aircraft, it does seem that it was around that early in the war, but that it did not enter into widespread service until 1944.--172.162.5.40 (talk) 08:44, 25 February 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Bomb load

[edit]

The bomb load seems very large for a twin-engined aircraft of the time. I know nothing - but are the quoted figures correct? Regards,Notreallydavid (talk) 23:51, 23 April 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Operators map incomplete

[edit]

The map of operators does not include Indonesia, which is included in the list of operators. 122.150.92.52 (talk) 21:34, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No source was provided for the Tu-2's Indonesian service. I've added a citation needed tag. We must first determine if the information is accurate before updating the map. - ZLEA T\C 21:51, 27 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
