Hello there, welcome to the 'pedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. If you need pointers on how we title pages visit Wikipedia:Naming conventions or how to format them visit our manual of style. If you have any other questions about the project then check out Wikipedia:Help or add a question to the Village pump. Cheers! --maveric149

Hi, regarding your post on the pump -- we have already done a lot of optimization, but some queries like the watchlist are still slow, and others have been turned off (stuff like Special:Wantedpages) and are generated manually ever so often. I suspect that a lot of the slowness has to do with missing indices, but have not been able to investigate further. You may want to take a look at the code yourself. These issues are usually discussed on the wikitech-l mailing list. --Eloquence 18:28 21 Jun 2003 (UTC)

An Automated Message from HagermanBot

[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! HagermanBot 16:42, 13 January 2007 (UTC)[reply]

thank you for comparison of wireless data standards

[edit]

Thank you for starting the comparison of wireless data standards article. This looks like it will become something that will save me (and others) much time and confusion. I see that the {{Comparison of mobile internet standards}} template already refers to it. --68.0.120.35 22:30, 19 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

p.s.: I see the trollers are trying to harass you into doing something they find entertaining. I hope you are smart enough to ignore them.

Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Maxine McKew2.JPG

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Maxine McKew2.JPG. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 04:31, 1 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]
