Are these the Paleoemerologites ?

Yes.

This article has major POV and verifiability issues. Regarding the sizes of the various GOC groups, they would be impossible to verify. The Matthewites have split into at least three small groups: one headed by Gregorios of Messina, one by Kyrikos and another by Nicholas. Parishes and clergy move back and forth between the Kiousis synod and the Makarios synod almost daily. The split between Kiousis and the Makarians is highly debatable as to who left who and over which of a number of issues. This article needs major revision.Wikigator 03:37, 20 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Why no communion with Russians?

[edit]

"However, excepting for groups split-off from ROCOR, no official inter-communion exists between the Greek Old Calendarists and ROCOR at the present day, due to the recent reunification of ROCOR and the Russian Orthodox Church (Moscow Patriarchate)." Why not? What does the reunification of ROCOR and the ROC have to do with it? --Richardson mcphillips (talk) 23:09, 27 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Greek Old Calendarists are in schism with the mainline Orthodox Church; ROCOR, by and large, had likewise so been, but by joining the ROC they have now come into communion with the Patriarch of Constantinople who doesn't even recognize the sacraments of the Greek Old Calendarists. Thus, only split offs from ROCOR who eschew ROCOR as no longer representing true Orthodoxy, analogously to the Greek Old Calendarists likewise not reckoning the Church of Greece as legitimately Orthodox, are in communion with the latter. In need of rewriting

[edit]

@Lipsio: hello. The book I added in the Further readings section could be used to greatly improve the article. You seem to have some knowledge on the subject, so would you be interested in doing this? Veverve (talk) 17:22, 4 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]

@Veverve: Greetings! While I appreciate your thought and the challenge, there are several dozen Wikipedia edits on my list, mostly for more widely read articles. Nonetheless, there is a second, smaller part of my previous edit that I'll perform some time soon. Vincent J. Lipsio (talk) 20:12, 6 September 2021 (UTC)[reply]
