LDSInfobox

[edit]

Noticed you put the LDSInfobox on David O. McKay. I was just about to put it on all the presidents but would welcome any help you could give - I had waited for comments before widely disseminating - there have been only a few - all positive so I guess it is a go. Thanks again Trödel|talk 21:57, 4 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I agree - they look much better with photo's - I will work on finding some - the key is the copyright issue - as I could scan in some that I have but I don't own the copyright to them. Trödel|talk 22:20, 4 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thx again for helping with the Infobox - I put up a proposal to put in who created the vacancy instead of prior and next in seniorty in the 12 on the Infobox talk page. Trödel|talk

Mysterious disappearing nuns of Mt. Athos!

Thanks for your message. It took some time tidying up the article, but it definetly needed it! Hopefully the other US military pages could be improved soon. Regards. Astrotrain 21:43, 19 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Why are three grades of the USAF chain of command designated "First Sergeant" ? Imagine three of them, different grades, same rank designation, "pulling rank" on each other. I had kin in the USAF who had seen officers, enlisted personnel who LOVE to pull rank. An example is that there is a BIG mess in a hangar, three personnel in there, this happens:"I'm a CAPTAIN, sergeant, YOU clean this mess up.", then another man states,"I'm a GENERAL, Captain, YOU clean up this mess!!".Martial Law 02:44, 24 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

In the US Army there is only one rank that is First Sergeant (1SG). In the USAF "First Sergeant" is not considered a rank, so much as a job. So, a Master Sergeant, Senior Master Sergeant or A Chief Master Sergeant all could be a "First Sergeant" but, you wouldn't have more than one First Sergeant in the same unit. Does that make sense? Muj0 22:53, 24 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Sure doesMartial Law 23:01, 24 October 2005 (UTC) :)[reply]

You ever have kin that told you about officers,NCOs pulling rank ? My kin has seen this going on.Martial Law 05:57, 25 October 2005 (UTC) :)[reply]

There is a saying in the military "crap rolls downhill" that means, that whoever is the lowest ranking ends up doing the worst jobs. Pulling rank is pretty normal. I see it all the time. Muj0 19:23, 25 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I think you might have done a typo on Minot Air Force Base regarding when Semi Automatic Ground Environment was shut down. See Talk:Minot Air Force Base Cafe Nervosa 04:53, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I don't like to argue, it seems that you have plenty of sources that do not agree, but I got my information from Minot's Official Website Muj0 05:04, 30 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

  • You ask a question that can start a lengthy debate, but deactivation in May 1963 seams like a waste of money. There may have been "military intelligence" behind the deactivation. I will return the Minot SAGE deactivation into the artcile, but perhaps others can shed light on why this installation was deactivated while the SAGE network was operated into the1980s. Thanks for cleaning up that clumsy addition to Monterey, California. I'd had the page open in my browser to fix, but kept putting it off. Procrastination wins again! Cheers, -Willmcw 22:48, 7 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Mason Patrick

[edit]
I am the portrait artist that painted the official portrait of Maj. Gen. Mason Patrick. It can be seen at my website www.stevenrogers.com I would appreciate it if we could use my portrait as the picture for the page. Several famous subjects have used their portrait for their wiki photo, and my painting is very realistic. Many people think its a photo. I am applying to grad school now and I would love to be able to say that my painting is on General Patricks wiki page. Please email me at spam.rogers@gmail.com.
Thank You. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Srogers312 (talkcontribs) 19:03, 19 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]
