"County Road 21"

[edit]

21 is actually a state highway, not a county road. I edited it for correction. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alabama_State_Highway_21 — Preceding unsigned comment added by Einlanzer (talkcontribs) 13:40, 20 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Pronounce?

[edit]

How do you pronounce this city's name? Sil-a-cooga? Sil-a-cow-ga? It's probably a dumb question, but it's entirely serious. Cadwal 05:38, 5 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Sil-a-cah-ga with accent on 3rd syllable--User:dgirl 03:55, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

People?

[edit]

Anyone got any other notables from Sylacauga? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Yadafoney (talkcontribs) 19:58, 4 April 2008 (UTC) Nobody has ever heard of this johnathan braden guy. Small towns outside New York wouldn't mention him...he hasn't even starred in a single movie, even a b-movie. Getting IMDB credits and a mention in the local newspaper doesn't make you notable. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.27.148.150 (talk) 05:29, 17 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

People?

[edit]

A lot of this page reads like a catalog of local businesses as well as boosterism for the local marble trade. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.232.85.146 (talk) 04:35, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The third photo in the image gallery at the bottom of the page is the Isabell Comer Museum, Not the B.B.Comer memorial Library as the Caption States. This can be easily verified by looking at the Engravings above the Building's entrance in the photo. However the white statue in the foreground was moved from the Comer Library in the mid 2000's when the library was renovated and expanded — Preceding unsigned comment added by 75.106.70.119 (talk) 17:52, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

" The combined instructional administration in SCS has 146 years as administrators, with 360 total years' experience in education and 274 years' of experience in SCS."

It is not very informative to say the school district has 360 total years' experience in education or 146 total years of experience as administrators, if you don't also include how many teachers and administrators there are in total. Are there 36 teachers with an average of 10 years experience? 72 with an average of 5 years of experience? 120 with an average of 3 years of experience?  ???

Since there are 2,364 pupils, I'd guess there are around 120 teachers (2,364 pupils/ 20 (pupils per teacher)= 118 teachers. If so, the average teacher has 3 years experience. But, who knows? If they are counting substitute teachers, perhaps the real number is more like 140 teachers, which would bring the experience per teacher down to around 2½ years per teacher.

Can't even guess the number of administrators to use as the denominator for the '146 total years of experience as administrators.' One administrator for every 2 teachers? That would be 70 administrators. 146/70= would be about 2 years of experience per administrator.
