Is this the largest contemporary German encyclopedia? Links to any other Wikipedia articles about current German encyclopedias would be welcome. Gillian Tipson 14:15, 11 May 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It is the largest (at least for the next few months until the German WP reaches 260,000 articles). Other big German-language encyclopedia are Microsoft Encarta with 50,000 articles and Meyers Konversations-Lexikon with about 150,000. -- Marcika 13:44, 23 Jun 2005 (UTC)
Then we should mention that it's the largest. Will do so right now. --OpenToppedBus - Talk 13:46, Jun 23, 2005 (UTC)
I've just deleted the text about Meyers and Encarta. If there is an article about German encyclopaedias, the text should go there. Here it is of no use to the topic. -- Goldie (tell me) 10:34, 3 November 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Per WP:USEENGLISH. This ain't it.

More specifically, per Ngram, the English and German forms of the name are roughly equally used and both are less common than referring to it as "Brockhaus" (i.e., Brockhaus (encyclopedia)). Since this page forms the natural disambiguation that uses English, this is where the page should go. — LlywelynII 12:47, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Ngram doesn't enter into it. It's a proper name, with no ambiguity about it - you see it right on the picture. "Brockhaus encyclopedia" (lowercase, and certainly without italics) is a possible descriptive term, but not one to use as a title. Unless a book has an actual translation, you can't just translate the title yourself and use it as if it were the proper name. Mewulwe (talk) 12:53, 22 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
