Hi, just saw your note on User talk:Jimbo Wales. I'm not sure if you'll get a response there, or when, and wanted to offer some immediate help--try bringing up your problem at Wikipedia:Administrators' Noticeboard. I would suggest going to the talk page of the IP for your school and putting up this notice: {{subst:SharedIP|a school}}, which expand thusly:

Attention:

This IP address, Fant, is registered to a school and is shared by multiple users. Comments left on this page may be received by other users of this IP and appear to be irrelevant. Caution should be used when blocking this IP or reverting its contributions without checking. In the event of vandalism from this address, efforts will be made to contact a school to report abuse.

If you are an unregistered user operating from this address, note that this need not necessarily be the IP address of your machine. In many cases, it turns out to be the IP address of a proxy server that communicates between your browser and the Wikimedia servers. Such proxies are shared among a huge number of users compared to the number of persons using your particular machine. If you are frustrated by irrelevant comments appearing here, you can avoid them by creating an account for yourself. However, you will still be unable to edit Wikipedia while the IP you are using is blocked.

That should help the problem at least--people would be reluctant to give a 24-hour block to a shared IP, I would hope, and might shrink it to an hour or less. HTH. Oh, and incidentally, welcome to Wikipedia! Best, Meelar (talk) 22:45, Apr 26, 2005 (UTC)

Best to reply on the other person's talk page, as you did. Btw, I liked your user page. Best, Meelar (talk) 22:55, Apr 26, 2005 (UTC)

Your user page needs less Image:Cowbell2.gif

[edit]

You have the image Image:Cowbell2.gif on your user page; this image is copyrighted and used in the Will Ferrell article under Wikipedia:Fair use. The use on your user page of that image is unlikely to be covered by use however, and as such is probably a Copyright violation. Could you remove the image from your user page? Thanks. --fvw* 23:21, 24 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I am aware of the nature of those folk. It's Wikipedia policy (at the moment) not to have long blocks on HSs. Also it seems that some serious edidting is bbeing attempted. Rich Farmbrough 13:46, 11 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
