Hi. There was an old argument on the Averroes page about the guy's ethnicity (Arab or Berber) - don't suppose you happen to know for sure? - Mustafaa 17:12, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Hello Mustafaa. Thank you for your note. No, I don't know for sure, I am not the real Ibn Rushd. :-) IbnRushd 17:27, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Dang! That's a bummer!! We could have had some real answers here, if you were. Oh, well.iFaqeer (Talk to me!) 22:18, Dec 1, 2004 (UTC)

Hello Mustafaa

[edit]

Thank you for your note. I have been on Wikipedia for a few weeks now, but I have not made any edits until today. I think I understand how it is done now. I answered your question on my page. Is that the right place? Also, I found a page that I think is very POV and poorly written, and it would be a lot of work to fix it, and I am not an expert in the topic. Are there experts here who can fix these things? IbnRushd 17:44, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)

You could try asking at Wikipedia:Reference desk or put the page up on Wikipedia:Peer review. — David Remahl 17:51, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Aww... and right after I had gotten my hopes up. :) In answer to your question (slightly duplicated now by David Remahl above): there are sometimes experts around and sometimes not, and you can try and get their attention by putting the article on Wikipedia:Peer review or Wikipedia:Pages needing attention, or if it's really bad, Wikipedia:Cleanup. You can also discuss stuff at Wikipedia:Village pump. What's the article, by the way? - Mustafaa 17:55, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)

This is the article: Ahmadiyya_Muslim_Community. I don't think any of the descriptions of the people there are neutral, as an example it keeps referring to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad as the Promised Messiah. In general seems to be written in an almost worshipful way, I suspect by an Ahmadi. If you can look at the article, please tell me which method of cleaning it up you think would be best for it? IbnRushd 18:33, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Well, for the moment I've put an { { npov } } notice on top, which should warn any readers that it has issues. I would say this could best be put into Wikipedia:Pages needing attention; or you could ask other people, like User:OneGuy or User:IFaqeer (though I don't know if any of them are acquainted with the topic.) - Mustafaa 18:45, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)

Please see my comments at: Talk:Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. Though I am not really worried about needing to warn readers about his being or not being the Promised Messiah, though. I don't think anyone's going to accept that claim solely on the strength of that article, now would they? I think the article is obvious enough in it's tone that most—most anyway—readers will understand that the article as it stands give a description of what the Ahmedis believe. The real issue is that the article just calls them an "Islamic sect" without any qualification about almost all non-Ahmedis (and even the Lahori group?) considering them heretical enough to not be "in communion" with them, so to speak—as Shafis and Malikis or even Shias and Sunnis might be.iFaqeer (Talk to me!) 22:25, Dec 1, 2004 (UTC)
Take a look at what I have done at Khalifatul Masih. What do you think?iFaqeer (Talk to me!) 22:55, Dec 1, 2004 (UTC)

Thank you, I will take a look at both of these. IbnRushd 04:00, 5 Dec 2004 (UTC)

A Fan of Yours

[edit]

Salaam,

I am a Wikipedia viewer (but sometimes people call me a vandalizer). I was extremely impressed with some of your edits, especially how you were kind enough to change parts of the Dajjal (Bahaullah) article.

I myself have been focusing on attacking the deviant sect articles, eversince I made I justified edit yet the admins ignored/reverted it. From then on, I decided to try another way.

I've noticed your edits are also ignored. You know why? The Jahannami Bahais control wikipedia. That's why the infamous Yahya Al-Shiddazi and John Borriello have been working on destroying the Bahai article. I make dua one day we can tear down the Bahai and Dajjaali pages.

For more information about Shiddazi and what's going on behind screen in Wikipedia, contact Jeff3000, a Wiki Admin. Ask him about Shiddazi.

May Allah help you in all your edits. Ameeen.

[edit]

IbnRushd, are you still there? I just wanted to let you know that I've heard recent rumors that the two "Vandalizers" mentioned by someone above are still around...thy're willing to let you come on board...I'll help you two keep in contact with each other...
