Rainforests have been estimated to have more than 10 million species of the living things on Earth. Rainforests cover 6% of the Earth. More than two thirds of the worlds plants are from rainforests and over half the animals in the world like the rainforests.

Wildlife Institute of India had published a technical report :- Rodgers, W.A.; Panwar, H.S. (1988) PLANNING A WILDLIFE PROTECTED AREA NETWORK IN INDIA.
