Hello and welcome. I've moved your user page to the right namespace. Regards -- sannse (talk) 17:17, 21 Sep 2004 (UTC)

It looks as though Elf's messages got lost in the page moves - so I've reproduced them below. Sorry about that -- sannse (talk) 17:21, 21 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Welcome

[edit]

Hi Dennis, and welcome to Wikipedia.

Thank you for finding the time to sign up and contribute to our little project. If you're in doubt about anything, you might want to check out some of these pages:

It's also a good idea to sign the new user log and add a little about yourself.

When contributing to a talk page, you can sign your name by typing four tildes after your comments, like this: ~~~~>. Some people do not pay attention to unsigned comments.

If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask me at my talk page, or at the Help desk or Village Pump.

But above all, make sure you be bold when contributing, and have fun!

I spend a lot of time working on the dog-related pages, so I'm always delighted when someone new pops in to help expand the breed pages. For this article, though, I had to remove the text because it's an exact duplicate--and therefore a copyright violation--of the text on the dogbreedinfo.com site. If you want to summarize & rewrite, possibly also looking at the standards from various kennel clubs (which now have links at the bottom of the breed table that I just put into the article), I'd be absolutely thrilled.

Also--the photo that you uploaded (Image:Russianblack.jpg) needs to be copyright clear, too; please add the source (e.g., who took it or from what web site), and under what license or rights it's available for use on Wikipedia. All of the Wikipedia text is available under GFDL, so either that or public domain material is best. If you know (for example, if you took the photo), you can add that info to the photo's description page using {{GFDL}} or {{pd}}. Otherwise, we might not be able to use the photo here.

Thanks again--lots of newcomers don't quite understand the copyright thing yet. Elf | Talk 21:06, 19 Sep 2004 (UTC)

Testing

[edit]

Thanks for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test worked, and has been reverted or removed. Please use the sandbox for any other tests you want to do. Take a look at the welcome page if you would like to learn more about contributing to our encyclopedia. Thanks. Cheers, -- Infrogmation 17:16, 9 Oct 2004 (UTC)
