from VfD:

Anyone ever heard of them? Deb 18:19, 24 Nov 2004 (UTC)

  • Keep. Amazon sells several CDs by them - that's good enough for me. David Johnson 18:26, 24 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. They're great! (I can hum along with at least three of their songs, so as far as I'm concerned, they are notable enough.) Eugene van der Pijll 18:42, 24 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. They seem to be pretty popular. Jeltz 18:54, 2004 Nov 24 (UTC)
  • Keep. The Amazon argument is compelling, and I do have a faint memory of them. Mgm|(talk) 19:01, Nov 24, 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. GRider\talk 21:31, 24 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Big in Belgium, they just very recently (November 20 2004 or so) released a new album --Anthony Liekens 00:32, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep, assuming the truth of the claims of having a #1 hit in Belgium and selling seven million CD's. And based on the comments of others, I see no reason to doubt them. Dpbsmith (talk) 00:38, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. I've never heard of half the things in this encyclopaedia. That's what makes it so good! Dr Zen 05:39, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep it. Very notable. RaD Man (talk) 15:29, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
  • Keep. Jayjg 21:43, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)
    • OK. I just thought I'd ask... Deb 18:13, 25 Nov 2004 (UTC)

A question regarding the genre

[edit]

I know most people would use terms Latino and Pop to describe Vaya Con Dios, but I'm wondering if they can be considered World Music or no? --212.200.207.53 01:52, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Their style can be described as World Music, however most people do not consider Belgium an exotic, non-western country. (Actually most people can't find Belgium on a map) KittenKlub 08:08, 22 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Who wrote this article? There is an error

[edit]

Dirk did not die of an AIDS-related disease. He was an alcoholic, not a heroin addict. He had an alcohol patch implanted, then removed it. he was informed not to drink for a few days after this. He didn´t obey and died suddenly of the subsequent complications. I was, and am now, the manager of Vaya Con Dios. I would appreciate you changing the article for the sake of historical accuracy. Otherwise it all looks pretty accurate to me, thanks. Fair use rationale for Image:Vaya Con Dios Whats A Woman.jpg

[edit]

Image:Vaya Con Dios Whats A Woman.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Clarification requested for a sentence

[edit]

"the band remained largely unknown in the Netherlands, partially due to being a Belgian band" LOL. Is this a crazy notion of the band not being known in a random country, or is there some actual meaning? Double-LOL: I can't believe some idiot proposed this page to be deleted... --84.249.164.59 (talk) 00:48, 9 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Seems to me like that section was copied/adapted from a Netherlands fan site. I don't see why the Netherlands merit more of a mention than say, Greece 88.218.162.248 (talk) 20:24, 18 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
