As you can see here http://stateparks.utah.gov, the agency is actually called Utah State Parks and Recreation. Maybe this article could be renamed or perhaps just deleted, I don't really think every state agency needs its own article unless someone actually researches the history of it.

Then again, their contact info states simply "Utah State Parks", as do all their press releases. This "article" is a rather poor stub but some might disagree as to its deletion-worthiness (see Wikipedia:Candidates for speedy deletion). You could list it on Wikipedia:Votes for deletion if you wish.
If you'd like to move the article, you should read Wikipedia:How to move a page. Note that you'll have to create an account and log in to do so. -- Hadal 04:58, 8 Oct 2004 (UTC)

I'm going to add the proper name for now. I'll let somebody else debate weather the wikipedia article should use the common verses proper name. Davemeistermoab (talk) 06:00, 13 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

The official name is Division of Utah State Parks and Recreation. It is commonly referred to as Utah State Parks.Bradadkins274 (talk) 18:03, 14 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Merge

[edit]

We have two short articles about the same subject. IMO they should be merged, any objections? Dave (talk) 17:37, 17 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have no objections to this. Bradadkins274 (talk) 23:23, 19 October 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Locator map

[edit]

I've added the map Template:State parks of Utah map showing the state parks throughout Utah. Unfortunately this template displays differently in Firefox and Internet Explorer; in IE the pins are offset lower. Someone more familiar with Utah geography should double-check me, but please don't tear your hair out trying to fine-tune the precise location of each pin because it will inevitably be off in the other major browser. I think the value of the map is to give a sense of the distribution of parks across the state. --McGhiever (talk) 04:46, 14 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
