Nice pictures

[edit]

Nice pictures, but I think the Automobile article is getting a little too full by now. Some of these would do better on the individual articles for the types of car that they are.

I'm also going to remove the links to the California vehicle code and California DMV from the Automobile page. Wikipedia is international, and that page would get very overloaded if we linked every vehicle code and authority in the world. There might be a better place to put them.

Welcome to Wikipedia, though! and please do keep contributing. If others change what you did or disagree, it's simply because we're all trying to make Wikipedia the best encyclopedia possible.

We do need car pictures for all the models of car we don't yet have pictures for; I've uploaded some and User:Arpingstone has uploaded some, but any pictures you have taken that illustrate ones we don't have pictured would be a great thing.

I am new to Wikipedia and appreciate the feedback. I have linked the pictures to the individual articles and am editing some of them.

Nice work so far. Appreciate the clarification on the Biscayne -- hard to find much about them online, and I haven't seen that many (plenty of Impalas and Bel Aires, but not many Biscaynes -- though one does wonder how many have been turned into faux-Impalas and the like). In general, I don't know Chevys all that well, so it's good to see you can add a bit that I can't. --Morven 09:40, 7 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Actually, there's a fair amount of info on Biscaynes in, of all places, Australia. They were assembled in RHD form by Holden with leather upholstery. Some of the hot rod magazines feature souped up Biscaynes. Impalas outnumber them by about 10-1 so it would make more sense to turn an Impala or Caprice into a Biscayne than the other way around. Certainly there aren't that many around these days whichever the cause -- I don't recall ever seeing one, and I've been to a fair number of car cruises and shows with my '67 Thunderbird --Morven 19:39, 7 Dec 2003 (UTC)

Interested in an L.A.-area Wiki meetup?

[edit]

It appears as though L.A. has never had a Wiki meetup. Would you be interested in attending such an event? If so, checkout User:Eric Shalov/Wikimeetup.

Disputed fair use rationale for File:Arizona highway marker.jpg

[edit]
Arizona 2 1927

Thanks for uploading File:Arizona highway marker.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 06:28, 2 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Tuckerspecialthumb.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Tuckerspecialthumb.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. FASTILYsock(TALK) 07:36, 13 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
