Failed GA

[edit]

Though this article is fairly nice, I failed it for a number of reasons.

  • Starting with the lead: It's too short, and there's an unsourced statement in it. "Probert is best known for his activities as a fighter and enforcer." There should be a source for this, probably because it's a bit point of view. "Bruise Brothers" links to nowhere.
  • Dates should be linked February 15, 2007; there are some dates not linked
  • There's a lack of sources (inline citations) thought the whole article. "On November 16, 2002, Probert opted to "unofficially" retire so that he could join the Blackhawk's radio broadcasting team." Can this be verified? There's statements like this thought the whole article that need citations.
  • The fighting section: "Some notable fights in Probert's career:" What makes these notable? It seems like this article is heavily focused on his fighting, maybe more can be mentioned about his other aspects of his career.
  • "he accumulated merely 17 points for the team." statements like these are POV
  • The article really needs an image. See if you can find a free image.

It's not too far away from good article status, but it needs some work first. Look on getting some solid references and clean up the point of view statements.++aviper2k7++ 04:26, 16 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Probert's Fights...

[edit]

This article states that during his professional hockey career, Probert had a total of 283 on-ice fights, with a record of 157 wins, 50 loses, and 59 draws. The question: What happened in the other 17 fights? Undertaker90 (talk) 23:00, 9 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hospital

[edit]

Until a sources says that he is in fact dead and not in the hospital, don't add the death templates and the like. For news sources [1]. Thanks. Falcon8765 (talk) 21:22, 5 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Photo

[edit]

The casual viewer will have to know which is Bob Probert and which is Darren Langdon. Could someone add an appropriate (left) and (right)? --John (User:Jwy/talk) 01:35, 6 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Why use that photo anyway? It seems odd to show the subject of an article, especially one known for winning the majority of his fights, getting, "pummeled." — Preceding unsigned comment added by 64.136.233.186 (talk) 06:50, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cyberbot II has detected that page contains external links that have either been globally or locally blacklisted. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed, or are highly innappropriate for Wikipedia. This, however, doesn't necessarily mean it's spam, or not a good link. If the link is a good link, you may wish to request whitelisting by going to the request page for whitelisting. If you feel the link being caught by the blacklist is a false positive, or no longer needed on the blacklist, you may request the regex be removed or altered at the blacklist request page. If the link is blacklisted globally and you feel the above applies you may request to whitelist it using the before mentioned request page, or request it's removal, or alteration, at the request page on meta. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. The whitelisting process can take its time so once a request has been filled out, you may set the invisible parameter on the tag to true. Please be aware that the bot will replace removed tags, and will remove misplaced tags regularly.

Cyberbot II has detected links on Bob Probert which have been added to the blacklist, either globally or locally. Links tend to be blacklisted because they have a history of being spammed or are highly inappropriate for Wikipedia. The addition will be logged at one of these locations: local or global If you believe the specific link should be exempt from the blacklist, you may request that it is white-listed. Alternatively, you may request that the link is removed from or altered on the blacklist locally or globally. When requesting whitelisting, be sure to supply the link to be whitelisted and wrap the link in nowiki tags. Please do not remove the tag until the issue is resolved. You may set the invisible parameter to "true" whilst requests to white-list are being processed. Should you require any help with this process, please ask at the help desk.
