"BEAM robots are built on the principle that having simple functions along with sensors are sufficient for most tasks. They interact with their environment through very complex nervous networks [...]". (Emphasis mine) Does this seem contradictory to anyone else? Simple functions, complex nervous network. Does that mean it's like a neural net or something? It needs clarification. -- ESP 15:13 22 Jul 2003 (UTC)

I'm not sure that "nervous network" is the same as "neural network"... --Mahound 17:57, 6 April 2006 (UTC)[reply]

removal of copy-edit tag

[edit]

I have copy-edited this article as much as possible for someone who does not know anything about robots. If you want it to read better you will need to get an expert to take a look at it. JenLouise 05:17, 21 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

BEAM Acronyms

[edit]

I moved the tidbit about alternative meanings for the BEAM Acronym from the introduction into its own subsection. Alexjshank 16:57, 16 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]
