Merge

[edit]

Can we consider merging Music of the African diaspora and Afro-American music, preferably under the title Music of the African diaspora? Afro-American music to me, and I think most people, refers to music of the United States, and it seems strange to see Latin American and Caribbean music there. Outside the Americas, music of African heritage is largely confined to Britain and on occasion Holland, France, Belgium and Germany which can be included in the new title. Thoughts please?-- Zleitzen(talk) 00:46, 22 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Yes merge please. The small article is unsourced and hardly sits well on its own. Decoratrix 22:34, 18 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Leave and Expand both Afro-American music is notable enough to warrant its own article. And it's potential for expansion is very high provided that someone puts the work into it. Additionally, the African Diaspora article should be an overview of all the varioius types of Music of African peoples. CJ 12:49, 30 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I think it would make more sense to merge Afro-American music into African-American music. -- TimNelson 04:03, 31 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]
